Within a short drive there are the beautiful Golitha falls near the starting point of the river Fowey: a few miles further onto Bodmin moor there are the famous Jamaica Inn, Dozmery Pool, Cheesewring and the Hurlers stone circles.

The south coast is 12 miles away, the nearest places being the fishing port of Looe and the very attractive and the picturesque village of Polperro, the whole coast being dotted with beaches and small coves.  Surfing beaches are generally on the north coast which is about 25 miles away. 

The harbour side village of Charlestown which was used in the filming of Poldark is about 40 minutes away.

There are numerous activities nearby: Adrenalin quarry is only a few miles away, there are plenty of walking opportunities and off road cycling is available at Lanhydrock, Cardinham woods and the Camel Trail as well as many local quiet country roads.

For more relaxed activities all within about 30 minutes from here there is the Eden project and many historic castles and buildings such as the National Trust Properties of Lanhydrock, Cotehele, and Anthony House as well as the English Heritage Restormel Castle.

Transport Links

The nearest Mainline station is Liskeard (4 miles) with services to London and Penzance.  The National Express coach service from London to Penzance travels past the house and can be requested to stop at the bus stop outside our garden.  There are other local bus routes and a pleasant train ride from Liskeard to Looe.  Bodmin also has its own steam railway.
